A local energy company had an Argonite discharge incident in one of their electrical rooms where a minor fire was effectively dealt with before it could spread and cause any significant damage. While the Argonite system did its job and successfully protected the room from a fire, the discharge left the room completely unprotected as the cylinders holding the agents are now empty.
Upon receiving the call from our client notifying us of this incident, immediate arrangements were made for our client’s Argonite system to be refilled and retested. While the refilling and retesting procedure usually takes a week’s time to complete, we managed to, within hours of the discharge incident, re-equip our clients with an up and ready Argonite system and fully filled cylinders, once again ensuring that their electrical room was well-protected.

How Did We Do It?
We replaced the empty cylinders with loan cylinders that we have on standby in our warehouses while waiting for the empty cylinders to be refilled. While refilling empty cylinders is a week-long process, replacing cylinders can be done in a matter of hours; with our ever-ready arsenal of loan cylinders, we shortened what would typically be a week-long period of increased fire risk into mere hours, potentially saving our client hundreds out thousands in the process as the risk of any fire damage is reduced significantly.

What Makes a Good Fire Protection System?
Proper fire protection isn’t limited to just how well your fire protection system can suppress the fire, it is also a matter of how quickly you can get your system back online after a discharge incident. For every second that passes where a fire system is inactive, hundreds and thousands worth of assets and potential business is being put at risk. While having a good product is one thing, good service is just as, if not more important, when it comes to effective fire protection.
